Raiding In DreamWhisper
Attendance
Given our focus in end-game content, the amount of time required to learn a difficult encounter, and to gear up our membership, we will be raiding very often. Regardless of classification, all members are expected to attend raids regularly. We require all applicants to acquire and maintain a long-term attendance of 85%. If you will be on vacation or unable to make a raid for any reason, be sure to post your absence on the attendance thread and contact your class leader. Unaccounted absences will be factored accordingly by the Guild Leader and his Officers.
Calculating Attendance
Attendance percentages for members will be based on a 6 week-Weighted Average attendance. Each day is worth a % attendance over the following 6 weeks. Attendance tracking for members will utilize the NDKP website for Attendance ratings http://www.dreamwhisper.net/dkp
Required Addons
Whether you are a member or an applicant, we request that you meet a few more criteria before joining us on our raids:
- Ventrilo - IP and port are posted in a sticky. Check with your group leader for the password.
- DeadlyBossMods
- DXE
- Big Wig
- Omen
*Some new add-ons might be required as we go through some of the newer content. These will be brought up on an as needed basis*
Minimum Raid Requirements
- Level 80 and extensive experience in 25 man ToGC, Ulduar Hard modes and ICC
- Know the raid policy
- Bring your best game and a fun, respectable attitude
- Fully repaired gear prior to zoning in and the ability to repair during the raid if necessary
- Plenty of reagents (we suggest 2-3 stacks)
- Plenty of Consumables (4 Flasks, Elixirs, Potions, Foods, weapon, and armor buffs)
Raid Preparations
- Summons - send a tell "summon" to a Warlock asking if you could "PLEASE" get a summon or if the raid hasn’t started yet whisper anyone in the area in which the guild will be focusing that evening.
- Take bathroom breaks and food runs before the raid starts
- If a Raid Ready Check is made, and you indicate you are not ready, send a tell to the officer who issued the ready check and tell them what you need or call it out over vent, (we honestly cannot read minds so make sure you tell us what you need) and tell us when you are ready.
- Members should join their associated group channel. These channels are for inter-class coordination. Organization requiring more than one group should be done in /raid and/ or over our vent:
-Class leaders will provide this to you once you get a tag preventing any spamming in any of the channels during a raid.
Other Notes
Required software and modifications should be installed in a reasonable time before attending a raid so you can properly test functionality and make customizations to your preference. This means NOT installing a mod during a raid and NOT installing it 10 minutes before a raid starts. These modifications are extremely important for the flow of clearing a zone and critical to the success of our overall strategy. If you do not have these modifications fully operational at the raid start time, you may be removed in favor of someone who does.
Raid Start times
Raids will be held according to our current schedule:
Monday thru Thursday 25 Man Raid invites start at 6:45PM, Raid starts at 7:00PM and ends at 10:00PM PST
Fridays - Sundays: Day off - 10 Man Runs
In general, the raid begins clearing the zone 15-30 minutes after the invite time. Once invites go out Stu will make the best group possible for the night and let the raid know who will be needed for that night and enter the instance at that time. Throughout the night a few changes might have to be made. Thus we require for you to leave your Main Toon outside of the instance. Once the main group has entered the instance you may jump on an alt as long as you remain on vent.
AFK Policy
Members will understandably need to take breaks for short periods during a raid, but in order to promote progress through a zone during those times, members should abide by the following rules when going AFK:
1. Inform an officer or your class leader through a /whisper.
2. Turn your /afk flag on.
3. /follow a non-melee member.
4. Return as soon as possible, but no later than 10 minutes.
5. Inform an officer or your class leader upon your return.
6. Turn off your /afk flag.
If you need to afk for longer than 10 minutes, notify your class leader or an officer - they will determine if you can retain your spot or we need to replace you. Raid members AFK for greater than 10 minutes will be removed from the raid. Exceptions can be made at the officers discretions based on class needs or circumstances.
Loot
Loot will be set on group loot to avoid any issues with this refer to chart below. If you are not the designated looter, DO NOT loot. That means don’t even bother clicking on a mob - we don’t want you to be removed from the guild due to an accident. If you are caught looting, you may be asked to leave the raid. All items collected that are not distributed to the membership, will be deposited in the Guild bank for guild use.
Patterns- Pass on All
Greens- Greed Roll until you receive one then Pass on the rest
Blues- Greed Roll same as above after you win one pass the rest
Epics- PASS ON ALL, The raid officers will call for bids and distribute the loot.
Patterns
Patterns are collected by the officers during the raid. Usually there is a waiting list for certain items so don’t expect to get it right away. Patterns will be given out at the end of the raid and will be distributed by the officer’s discretion.
Also, we will have a designated miner, herbalist and skinner for all raids. This allows us to collect materials to create armor and other items for our membership. If you are not the designated miner, herbalist or skinner, resist the temptation of herbing/mining/skinning. As with looting, we ask that if you gather any of these materials please deposited them in the guild bank.
Initiate Policy
Applicants are members who have been recently added to the guild. Initiates enjoy all the benefits of an "active" member with the following exceptions:
Initiates must maintain an attendance record of 80% for the first 6 weeks of being guilded. If initiates do not maintain a high level of attendance they will be removed from the guild at the Officers discretion.
Initiates do not have access to the guild bank to withdraw items. Initiates do not have access to the Guild bank for "ANY" items.
During the 6-week probation period Applicants are still being evaluated by the Officers and the Guild as a whole. The Officers and Guild leaders are entitled to evaluate and dismiss Initiates due to poor performance during raids. In all cases Applicants/ Initiates will be informed of their performance (consulted) and given a chance to improve. If improvement is not seen, the Initiate will be removed from the guild.
Applicants can send tells for loot, but will have to have a 75% attendance record for loot priority. For example, when loot drops all members, veterans, applicants and initiates send a tell for loot. If no members bid on loots it will go in priority to initiates and then applicants.
DKP SYSTEM
How you earn DKP and Attendance:
Attendance is taken at the start and finish of each raid. In order to get credit for the start attendance you need to be at the raid entrance prepared to start. Even if you are on standby you still get attendance credit. If you come late and leave early you will not get any attendance credit for that portion of the attendance day.
When someone wins an item the amount they paid for it is divided by the number of people in the raid and on standby and that is how much dkp everyone receives. Even if you are on standby you get dkp (make sure to listen on vent to send a tell to Stumeister if you are not in the raid in order to get credit)
Being on standby means your main is parked at the entrance to the instance we are doing and you are on vent and ready to go!
Bid Priority
In order to have bid priority you must have above 75 % attendance.
What this means:
Player A: 50 dkp, 100 % attendance
Player B: 100 dkp, 40 % attendance
If both of these players bid on the same item player A will win the item even though he/she has less dkp because player B does not have the required 75 % attendance.
You can still win items if you have less than 50 % attendance, but people with above 75 % get priority over you.
Armor: 15 DKP
1H: 25 DKP for melee/Healers/Casters
Shields and Offhands: 15 DKP
Trinkets, rings and necks: 7.5 DKP
2H: 35 DKP for melee/healers/casters
Range weapons: 35 DKP
Wands, Librams, Totems and Relics: 7.5 DKP
Secondary: (Melee weapons for hunters and Range weapons for melee classes )
1H : 7.5 DKP
2H : 15 DKP
Ranged: 7.5 DKP
Offspec: Half price ( Ex. Feral loot for resto druids )
You can bid "Offspec" only if members who have the right spec don't want that item.
*Once new DKP Values are assigned to items we do a recalculate* DKP for members
""" Downgrade """
If an item is going to rot, you can downgrade and don't have to pay DKP for that item only if you already have bought something to place in that slot.
Examples:
Rogue, shammy, pally token drops and nobody wants them. If you have already paid for a chest, you can get it for free to put different enchants, gems on it or get a different version/spec.
When you want to bid downgrade, send a tell to whoever is taking tells for the items and tell him you want to downgrade. Also make sure you have already paid DKP for the slot you want to downgrade.
Conduct
DreamWhisper requires its members to uphold a certain level of conduct so that we can maintain a respectable presence on Windrunner. Members who fail to comply with the following rules will be subject to consequences and, potentially, dismissal from the guild. The following is a list of examples of poor conduct.
•Harassment or personal attacks of any sort towards guild members or non-guild members.
•Stealing, ninja looting, and constant complaining about loot (includes guild raids and pick up groups).
•Arrogance and bragging, whether it is in guild chat or to your pickup raid. This includes repeated linking of items in a guild or public channel.
•Apathetic attitudes during raids. If you don't want to come to a raid, don't come. But if you do come, bring your best. Don’t ask if the raid "needs" you but rather if there's room available and express your desire to come. DW successfully raids without a full group when we want to, so we look for people who want to come along, rather than those who only do when there's a "need".
•Unnecessary posting on public forums. DW prides us on our reputation. Resist the urge to post.
Application
If you are up to the challenge, this will mean many hours spent learning each boss, frustrating wipes and high repair bills. We feel that this method not only helps us create our own way of doing things (there's always more than one way to skin a cat!), but is the best way to learn to work together as a team. The sense of accomplishment, after killing a boss using a strategy the group worked together to perfect, is priceless. We are a family here at DreamWhisper and if you think you would be a good fit put in an Application.
Recruitment Process
If your application is filled out and accepted from the DW members and Officers review we will give you an interview and then a tag if everything goes well. Once you get the tag you will become an APPLICANT.
Applicant phase lasts 2 weeks. At the end of the 2 week trial period you will be voted on by the officers and members whether or not you make it to the next phase. If you do get accepted you will be promoted to INITIATE for a period to complete your attendance requirement over the next few weeks until the officers see fit to promote you to member. During this period we will evaluate your performance and track your attendance. If you lie on your attendance you will be asked to leave the guild. If you make it refer to the recruit post in the General forums. Good luck ladies and gents! And Welcome to DreamWhisper.
Please complete the application as much as possible. Thanks for your time!
